In Night, by Elie Wiesel, first person point of view is used. Elie wrote about his personal experience during the Holocaust. Having survived the Holocaust, Elie was able to recall his feelings and create this novel. His experience with the Holocaust caused him to have a negative tone in the book. Elie Wiesel's Dawn, a trilogy to Night, was also written in first person. Elie's style is to write in first person about his personal accounts. This creates a terrifying mood because the horrible things read about in the stories actually happened.

In Animal Farm, by George Orwell, third person point of view was used. He wrote about a rebellion of the animals against humans. He related this to the Russian Revolution of 1917. Orwell lived in England during this time, so he wrote about it. His style of writing is based on his experience. This particular book is about political rebellion. In Down and Out in Paris and London, another book by Orwell, he wrote about the poverty in the two cities. This book was also written in third person point of view. He based this book on his personal experiences when he lived in Paris and London.
