Elie Wiesel
Elie Wiesel was born in 1928 in a town called Sighet, which is in modern day Romania. Elie lived during the time of World War II and because he was Jewish, he and the rest of his family were relocated to a concentration camp until 1945. Only he and his two older sisters survived the Holocaust. His first book was published in 1958 and he has been writing ever since. Elie writes by tying experienced or events into his books and writings. Along with his writing about his experience he also writes very lucid. Elie has now written about forty books. He is currently living in New York City and is a professor at Boston University. Wiesel goes around to different schools and universities teaching about his life experiences.
